Good morning, from one day to the next I have not been able to open my virtual machine (using VMWare Player 17.0.1).
I checked the files inside the virtual machine folder and there don't seem to be any missing items, however if I try to check the Hard Disk configuration and I receive a message about the file specified in the path is not found.
I am attaching the screenshots of the error and the generated log file.
I also checked the BIOS to check the virtualization options enabled.
Thank you and have a good day
That's not the log needed. Please attach a full file listing of the VM's folder including dates and sizes, and also the vmware.log file.
The file for one of the virtual disk slices, "Win7_64k-s013.vmdk" is missing.
You can just copy the missing file and then power on the VM. It *may* have some files missing if that slice was written to in the meantime.
Also, before doing that, you can search for the file in an AV Quarantine or similar, in case it got flagged by anti-virus. And it's best practice to exclude any VM folders from AV scan (and also OneDrive sync).
I copied the file and I restarted the VM.
As you told I have some error on applications that was maybe opened and I have to reinstall them, but it seems it's working.
Thank you very much.
