"Network Cable UnPlugged" error after Upgrade to Fusion 4.1.3

After upgrading to Fusion V4.1.3 all VMs appeared to lose their network connections.

Resetting or toggling the connection to BRIDGED/NAT doesn't help, neither does upgrading VMTools.

Macbook-Pro i5 8Gb RAM OS/X 10.6.8

FIX-- courtesy of VM Support, not sure why its not a KB article as severl folk seem to have had this issue over the years.

To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:-

1. Shut down your virtual machine (suspended state won't count)

2. In Fusion, go to Virtual Machine on top menu bar and click on Settings > Network Adapter.

3. Ensure that the network adapter is connected (that is, Enable Network Adapter is ON or the Connected box is selected).

4. Ensure that the network adapter is configured for NAT or Bridged, and not Host Only. Make a note of your setting.

5. Click triangle beside Advanced options and select Remove Network Adapter to remove your current network adapter.

6.  From the Settings pane select Add Device > Network Adapter to re-add your network adapter.

7. Verify that your new network adapter settings match your old settings.

8. Quit Vmware Fusion

9. Shutdown your Mac for 15 seconds and restart.

10. Turn on your virtual machine.
