is there any commands to add devices to a vm if the client only have vmware player?

Hi guys,

Been searching around but cant find anything on the subject, so here goes(might be a stupid question but im rather new to vmware player)

We have installed a vm on vmware server that we copy to a pc running Debian. We install vmware player for the user to run the vm....so far so good.

But some of the users have the need to add and remove devices, so my question is... is there any command line tools in vmware player that can help with this or is do they need to edit the .vmx file ?

If they need to edit the .vmx i'll install vmware server on their machines instead.

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

VMware Player is just a "VM running tool".

You'll need to edit the .vmx file for any changes.

Hers the manual to help
