installation on Windows Vista

Hallo,

I cannot install VMware-player-2.5.0-118166 on Windows Vista Business 32bit, Service Pack 1.

Simply the installer does not start, I can see for few moments the installation splashscreen.

If I play VMware-player-2.5.0-118166 from a command prompt with the /c switch the reply

is "access denied", but I'm Administrator. The same with an older version of the player

(VMware-player-2.0.4-93057). No VMware Tools are already installed in the pc.

I read the post of chmiho Jul 3, 2008 on the same subject without solve the problem.

Someone experienced the same problem? Any hints?

Thank's in advance.

Have you tried to do a "RunAs" on the installer? Temporarily disable UAC, perhaps?

Or, just upgrade your host OS to Windows XP... Smiley Wink
