how do you shutdown the host after you initiate a shutdown of a guest VM?

Running Ubuntu 9.04 off a USB stick and I am auto-starting into VMplayer to load Windows XP.

What I would like to know is how do you have the Linux host automatically shutdown after you initiate the shutdown of the Windows XP VM.....

Essentiatlly you are completely shutting down the entire PC.....

I'm not familiar with autostarting on Ubuntu but I guess there is some sort of script that gets run to start up VMplayer. If so then just change the script so that after VMplayer exits (most simple if it is running in the foreground) to force a shutdown on the host (poweroff or similar command).

In System>Startup Applications

I set VMplayer to startup on the opening of UBUNTU and I have player load the XP VM....

there isn't any location in "System" to shutdown the Host machine when I exit VMplayer

In turn that is what I am looking to find.......

Same sort of thing. Instead of calling VMplayer direct use a script to call it and have the script call halt or poweroff (prefix with sudo for ubuntu I think).
