host only network not working

Hello,

my host only network is not working since a few days. Before that it worked.
I've updated from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2, but I don't know if this is the reason.
Striking is the IP address from the host. This was before 192.168.106.1. Now it is in the link-local area.
my data:
VMware Player 4.0.2 build
Host: Windows 7 Professional
Guest: Ubuntu 10.04 LTE, VMware Tools up to date, static ip 192.168.106.12

ipconfig /all

I agree with the other poster. Please check whether the "VMware VMnet DHCP Service" (vmnetdhcp.exe) is running. You could also try to do a "Restore Defaults" to see whether this solves the issue.

vmnetdhcp.exe running.

"Restore Default" and re-configure (as vmnet.PNG in the appendix) was the solution.

The cause of the disorder, however, remains unclear.
