Windows XP install fails - no access to dvd or iso file

I have recently installed VMware Player 3.1.4 on a Win 7 SP1 64bit Host. Ran through the setup wizard to create a VM. It sees the genuine Win XP 32bit Home Edition disc, boots from it runs through the initial setup, F8 I agree then when it trys to access the disc to continue with the gui setup it cannot find the disc.

I have made an ISO of the disc and ran through wizard again this time selecting to build from ISO but same thing happens.

Anyone seen this behaviour before? Any ideas.

Sorry forgot to mention that same thing was tried on a Win 7 SP1 32bit Host using same versions of software and all is well I have the VM XP Guest up and running.

So what is different about this on Win 7 64bit?
