Windows 98 VM and Missing Drivers... what to do?

I need to run some really old software for some testing, I have Windows98 up and running properly but I am missing  a few devices from the Device Manager.

- PCI Device

- Audio Device

- PCI USB Device

also my video resolution is capped at 640x480 x16 colours... I need at least 800x600 with 256 colours for my application.. 1024x768 at 16 Million Colours would be fantastic.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to fix these few short comings? Win98 does't see my hardware directly does it? I doupt getting old compatability drivers for my specific HW would work would it?

Thanks

after a few VM re-boots the Tools installation finally came up and resolved the Video resolution issue, but I still have the Audio issue.

what I found was this post: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1094759#1094759

and I just installed the web drivers. if I added the waveset in the 2nd set of instructions in your post I lost my audio again... Smiley Sad

But I'm happy, I have my audio.

Thank you for posting
