Hi all,
I downloaded Vmware Player 3.1 to load a Windows 95 machine. I followed the instructions per the guidelines but I can't get to the D:\ drive to load Win 95 in DOS, invalid drive specification, either to a mounted drive or an ISO(I set it up in the BIOS, I also tried legacy emulation selection in Player menu). I read somewhere on this forum that you can't do this in Player but I read on a later thread that you can create VM's with Player with the 3.1 release, Win 95 is an option, so I guess my question is am I wasting my time and need Workstation or am I doing something wrong? The CD/DVD drive is an ATA drive, but it would not workwhen pointed to an ISO either, so I don't know if that is an issue.
Oh and this is loaded on Windows 7.
Thanks for your help.
Dan
Welcome to the Community,
how did you setup the DOS boot disk? Which CDROM driver did you use?

... in Re: How do I create MSDOS6.22 and Windows3.11 VMs?, I posted a sample configuration with a link to a working CDROM driver.
