Windows 95/98 File Sharing with Host.

Hi,

I've no idea if this question is in the correct 'Board'. If not perhaps a moderator could relocate it.

I have created two VMs using VmWare v17 'free' version. I have managed to get both running but they both only "see" the A:, C: and  (CD) drives.

I have set up file sharing under options and set up shared folders on the host WIn10 system but I can't get either of the VMs to see any shares. Whether it is a connected issue, but the Network Neighbourhood says 'Network is unavailable'.

Have googled lots of suggestions but can't get anything to work.

Regards, Graham.

As your post needs moving to the area for Workstation Player, I have reported it to the volunteer moderators.

Once it has been moved, the path above your initial comment will show the correct location.

Have you installed the VMware Tools in the guest?  They are required to use the VMware Shared Folders feature.

Alternatively, just create a standard Windows File Share using the built-in CIFS/SAMBA file sharing.
