Windows 7 + Ubuntu 10.04 + using ssh

Dear members,

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 installed on Windows 7 pro by using VMware player 3.1 and encountered a problem when using ssh on Ubuntu.

At home I use ssh to have a connection to the server in my lab, but when the connection is inactive for a while, then the ssh connection is broken by the server for a security reason. It's the problem of the server, but my personal problem is that then the terminal window where I opened the ssh connection becomes suddenly got caught until I kill ssh forcefully. I guess the ssh program itself believes that the connection is still there, but Windows 7 has broken the connection.

I suspect it is a problem of Windows 7 because I had no problem when I use VMware on Windows XP. (The ubuntu image is copied from Windows XP to Windows 7) On Windows XP, I just need to reconnect the ssh, but on Windows 7 now, I have to kill ssh first, and then reconnect. It gets more annoying when I use sshfs because sshfs won't reconnect because ssh hangs.

I am wondering if there is any way to solve this problem?

Many thanks in advance
