Windows 7 Machine gets stuck on Linux until process is Suspended/Continued

This becomes a persistent issue once it begins, and suspend/continue the task only buys about a minute of usage before it has to be repeated again. (via the host's task manager - not via the built-in suspend/resume feature)

The VM is not running any antivirus/antimalware (but has been checked for malware and appears clean) This issue does not occur when loading the Windows 7 VM from a Windows host.

Is this a known issue?
