Vmware player-what if my copy of xp is contained on a full system disc

My copy of XP is legal, but it is contained in a 3 disk installation set that came with my xp computer.  This contains xp in it somewhere, but also contains bundled software and whatever else they put on it.   How do I install the xp when Vmware player asks for the disk?

PS,  In fact, the disks I have are the typical 3 disk "recovery disk" set.  Windows must be on there, along with other things, but it is for recovery, does that matter, or must it be some sort of original XP only disk.

You're talking about the recovery disks that came with a computer from Dell, HP, or some other system builder, correct?

You won't be able to use those disks to install XP in a VM. OEM OS licenses are tied to the hardware & cannot be transferred. You would have to buy a separate copy to run in a VM.
