Vmware and everquest

I'm trying to run VM for multiple instances of everquest on 1 PC.

When I add monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"   to the VM config file to bypass the VM check before logging in.  It will load windows, but it loads with "Desktop Windows Manager has stopped responding" and nothing will open.

Vmware tools also stops working? It's there a work around for this?

Adding that line in the guest effectively disables VMware Tools according to another post because Tools can't communicate to the hypervisor.  So it's no wonder why VMware Tools stop working.

What happens if you remove VMware Tools entirely?

Why not ask the Everquest publisher how to make this work on a VM? They're obviously going out of their way to keep it from running on a VM.

its not even a problem with everquest at this point. The entire VM stops working. all programs stop responding, reinstall vmware tools grays out. desktop manager stops responding. typing dxdiag shows no 3d accerlation. just don't get why it wont work on this computer.

it worked on my older computer with amd board and componets, i read that intel boards may cause issues with it, was just looking for some info. thanks
