Vmnet interface will not shut...

Good evening,

I have a small problem there and would love to have your advice.

I run a Backtrack 5 here with 2 Wireless nics. And Intel and a Alfa1 (Atheros chipset)

I have a VMplayer running on the Linux box and linked to the 2 Wi-Fi NIC’s. (Wlan0 and Wlan1)

As they are bridged, VMplayer uses vmnet1 and vmnet8 as bridge interface and run a dhclient on them.

The problem is that once I close the running VM’s the vmnet1 and 8 stay up. This is not compatible with my current work, and I was wondering if there was a way to Kill all VMware process automatically upon exiting.

Thank you Smiley Happy

VMnet1 and VMnet8 are set to be the Host-Only and NAT adapters respectively.  You should not use those switches to bridge to - use the unused ones (2-7, 9) instead!

Errr.. Ok

The problem is that I did not set them up, they just came out of the blue, and now even with VMWare closed they are still bugging me. NAT will not be good for what I want to do ( packet injection)

How can I get ride of them once and for all ?
