Hello
I need some confirmation that the capability to create virtual machines in vmware player began with versions 3.x. If so, I would like to download vmware player version 2.x (ie, *without* this capability), but the oldest version offered the vmware site is 3.0.
How do I do this?

The built-in ability to create Virtual Machines with VMware Player started with VMware Player 3.
I have no problem downloading any version of VMware Player from the "Download VMware Player" web page, which at the present time prominently displays VMware Player 3.1.4, however for previous major version releases simply click the "Other versions of VMware Player: 2.5, 2.0, 1.0" hyperlinks as shown highlighted in the image below.
