VMware Player requires features that are not present on your CPU...?

Hi there,

I am trying to install tha latest version of VMware Player (v4.0.4) on a Windows XP Pro SP3 machine, running on a Pentium 4 3GHz CPU with 2GB of RAM, but get the error message above when running the exe.  Can anyone advise why this might be?

I've read elsewhere on this forum that VMware Player v4 needs a 64-bit OS, and sure enough, I've now managed to install v3 on my 32-bit system.  However, the "OS Support" section on the Downloads page for Player states that 32-bit Windows systems are supported.

Correct, Player4 requires a 64bit processor, however you can install a 32bit OS.

You could run an earlier version of Player to get it working on your computer.
