I have an XP system that boots successfully from an HD.
I saved the system with Acronis to a TIB file.
I used converter to create a virtual machine from the TIB file.
Under Player the VM boot fails with "winsrv not found"

On the physical drive I can find 6 instances of winsrv
On the TIB file mounted as a drive I can find the exact same 6 instances of winsrv.
I conclude that Player or Converter has failed to replicate the machine.
