When trying to run Windows 7 on VMware Player on Backtrack 4 (LInux DIstro), I get an unrecoverable error. The error occurs as I load the virtual machine.
Three things - Backtrack 4 is running off a USB. (sdb1)
- The ISO for Windows 7 (which i'm virtualizing) is on a 1TB external hard drive (sdc1)
- The virtual machine is being saved onto sdc1

MORE SYMPTOMS::
I recieve "this virtual machine is busy" after I click ok on the previous error.
This happens on multiple different vm's.
when using Backtrack from USB as the host your memory configuration is critical.
The problem maybe that your /tmp is too small.
It might be necessary to change the memory settings.
Please use menu > edit > preferences and set the memory to "fit all memory ..."
Then restart VMplayer and post aother vmware.log
