VMware Player - OVF deployement error

Hi

I have created OVF file from vSphere Client 4.1 using Export OVF option. I am using the same OVF in VM Player 3.1 but its throwing the following error :

Failed to open virtual machine : Failed to query source for information.

Is OVF not compatable with VM Player?

Please let me know your inputs or suggestions on this issue.

do you still have the original ?

then I would just forget about ovf and instead export the vmdk via vmkfstools

vmkfstools -i esx.vmdk vmplayer.vmdk -d 2gbsparse

then you can copy the vmx and the vmplayer.vmdk and run them in VMplayer
