(WXP host with W2K & CentOS guests with bridged & nat networking)
Everything was fine while until I disconnected WiFi and re-connected to my LAN which uses the SAME 192.168.0.0/24 range that VMware have chosen !
So how can I hardcode VMnet1 & VMnet8 to use specific subnets ?

Use the network config tool at "C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Player\vmnetcfg.exe", select the 'NAT' tab and 'edit' the values. Restart the NAT service at the bottom of the page.

FANTASTIC ANSWER thanks !
I've documented your suggestion more fully at http://communities.vmware.com/blogs/vizzr-info/2008/01/02/vmware-player-manual-virtual-network-dhcpn...
NOTE to VMware / Feature Request how about starting to search for subnets (in vmwply & vmwsvr) at 192.168.200+ then VMware Virtual Networks will never clash with the default BELKIN, CISCO, NETGEAR, etc subnets !
