Currently I have a Windows XP PC and would like to run Ubuntu through VMWare Player. After I installed VMWare and got Ubuntu running inthe player, I have to download VMWare Tools through the player. However, my company IT department has a firewall that I cannot disable and any internet access must go through this firewall. (Remote Desktop Connection) I have both LAN and wireless connections.
Can I configure Player to run properly on the internet if the firewall can never be disabled? When I tried to download Tools through Player, all I got was access denied.
