VMWARE 17 HOST DEBIAN 12 GUEST AND CLIPBOARD ISSUES

Im on vmware player 17.0.2 and i installed vmware tools 12.3.0 i can copy any files except zip and folders is anyone having issues with vmware on a linux kernal that is 6.1.0-13 its just a strange issue has anyone come across this

my host is debian i tried doing it on a w11 guest

but i remember having a hard time finding 12.3.0 version but when i tested 12.2 i had issues with it on linux guests too so its a 99% that i have the issues with every vm

no i dont want to enable shared folders

no i dont want to use ftp smb or anything that has anything to do with the internet

this is a built in feature of vmware and it doesnt work properly can someone please help me with it i just want to be able to copy/paste a clipboard

The VMware Tools for Linux guests have more or less been deprecated, and are only recommended for older Linux OS's.  Most modern Linux systems use the open-vm-tools.  There are two different packages - one handling the drivers and another handling the desktop (copy/paste, etc).  Make sure you have installed both.

sorry meant to say my host is debian but im trying to get a windows 11 vm working i installed the vmwaretools 12.30 on the w11 guest i can copy anything except folders and zip files
