Sorry for my limited English.
The problem is: I installed the new VMWare Player 14 in my host Linux OpenSuse 42.3 with NVIDIA CARD with Optimus tecnology. I use the bumblebee and the command "optirun vmplayer" to utilize the NVIDIA Graphic Card. The version 12.5.7 work fine and use the bought video cards, but with the new version, with Nvidia Card, the vmware player open the first screen, and when I selected any option or any virtual machine, the program finish. The Intel Graphic Card is ok, the problem is only with the NVIDIA Card and the version 14 of the VMWare player.
I'm sending the log of the problem.
My NVIDIA Card is 720M
Thanks,
If the optirun cannot treat VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS=1 as an env setting, you can directly export it to your environment. And then try to launch player as what you did before.
Can you please enable core dump file generation on your OpenSUSE 42.3 host?
In /etc/security/limits.conf, modify the following line to be:
* soft core unlimited
Reboot the host and reproduce the issue. Please attache the core file and ui log. Thanks a lot!
Sorry, your core file is an empty one. Did you cancel the limit for the core dump size?
Besides, from the log, vmplayer is launched with the system gtk libraries. You can try to luanch vmplayer by "VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS=1 vmplayer" to see whether this issue occur on shipped libraries.
Yes, I canceled the limit of core dump size.
I start the program with "VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS=1 vmplayer"
I received this messages
"[AppLoader] Use all shipped libraries.
"[AppLoader] Use all shipped libraries.
"I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/etc/vmware/hostd/proxy.xml"
and the program run fine, but the program use the Intel Graphic Card that work fine,
when I used "optirun VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS=1 vmplayer" the program finish and the message was:
/usr/bin/vglrun: line 257: exec: VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS=1: not found
I'm sending the vglrun attached
Thanks,
