VM-WarePlayer suitable for use on different Hardware?

Hello,

I'd like to create a VMware-Instance with VMWare-Workstation and give it to students to take tests.

Are there any problems running VM-Ware-Instances with VM-WarePlayer, when the students have different HardwareConfiguration (GraphicBoard, Disk, RAM, Network) on their PC/Notebooks (all running WinXP)?

This is the perfect reason to use a virtual machine! It does not matter what the host's hardware is (other than perhaps the CPU) - the guest always sees its own, independent, hardware.
