Using VMPlayer to deploy copies of an exiting virtual machine

I have a developer that wants to use VMPlayer to deploy copies of an existing virtual machine to several other developers.  I'm totally unfamiliar with VMPlayer but I've been tasked to get this done for him.  I've downloaded and installed the player successfully.  My question is do I have to download the entire virtual machine folder from the datastore to a network share in order for them to access it?

Yes you will and they will have to make their own copies  since vmplayer will not allow fir sharing a single VM
