Unable to install VMware 16 on ubuntu 22.04

Hello,

I was trying to install Workstation 15 for a university assignment but it failed to do so midway, I searched around on google and found out that apparently workstation 15 is not compatible with ubuntu 22.04 and that I have to install workstation 16 instead, I follow this guide:

https://idroot.us/install-vmware-workstation-pro-ubuntu-22-04/

but when I try to run the bundle i get this message not matter what I try.

Any ideas where would the problem be?

PS: I also tried vmware-install -u (and the product) but says command not found

May I suggest that the first port of call for any investigation are the log files, both the Host OS and VMware.

As an aside I assume that the Ubuntu 22.04 is updated to the latest, and your gcc compiler is also to the latest version.

Suggested install procedure.

VMware's official compatibility guides:

Supported host operating systems for Workstation Pro 16.x, 17.x and Workstation Player 16.x, 17.x (80807)

Thanks for the info. I tried manually deleting all files related to vmware and then tried the installation for VMware 16 from scratch and surprisingly it worked, not sure what caused the issue, maybe files that were left behind by a faulty uninstall?
