Unable to bridge Windows 7 guest

I have a windows 7 64bit host and Windows 7 32bit guest. Im trying to get the bridge to work but cannot.

On the host I show 2 vmware ethernet adapters labeled: VMnet1 and VMnet8. The vmware bridge protoocol has been enabled on both of these adapters.

The virtual network editor shows VMnet1 as bridged and it shows as being bridged to "Realtek PCIe family controler". VMnet8 shows as NAT.

Can someone plesae guide me on what I can do to connect my guest to the network using bridge?

Welcome to the Commnity,

did you reconfigure the Virtual Network settings?

I'd recommend you set the virtual network back to default:

  • vmnet0 - Bridged
  • vmnet1 - Host-Only
  • vmnet8 - NAT

Then make sure the Realtek NIC is selected for the Bridged network rather then "Automatic".
