Unable to access Internet with Browser Appliance

Starting with a new download of Player 2.5.1 build-126130 which I then installed on XP Pro Sp3, I next downloaded the Browser Appliance. The Appliance is a pre-built Ubunto 5.10 running an old version of Firefox.

Start the player, select the Browser Appliance for my Guest.

After Guest boots, it starts Firefox. All is good.

Try to access any web address (www.vmware.com for example)

Error message to the effect that it can't find the requested server.

Host network config:

Normal ethernet connection to a Router connected to a cable modem which then connects to my ISP.

The ISP provides my DNS and Windows is configured to get the IP address, etc, including DNS server info from the Router which is appropriately configured to serve a a DHCP server for my internal network.

I use McAfee Security Center for my firewall. It is configured to allow VMWare to have full access.

I can ping the router from the Guest, I cannot do anything needing DNS services.

Both the Player and the Browser Appliance are used with no modification to the default settings. There are no Proxys involved.

My question then is what is wrong and/or what can I do to diagnose and/or fix this problem?
