Unable to Install Windows 95 in a DOS v6.22 Virtual Machine.

We have a DOS v6.22 VM that has been running well under Player on a WinXP host. Now we are trying to install Windows 95 in the DOS VM[/i]. However, we get a lockup and, sometimes, an error message part way through the Win95 installation.

The error message is superimposed on the Win95 splash screen. It reads:

run-time error R6003 - integer divide by 0[/b]

I am uncertain where this error message originates but can forward a captured screen image showing the problem.

The lockup and message occur immediately after we indicate acceptance of the Win95 EULA.

Can anyone advise on this?

Thanks.

Phil

If you switch the guest O/S in the VMware configuration from DOS to a Windows 95 VM does it work?

I assume you mean using Workstation to create a new Win95 VM. It seems sensible to do so, but I still wonder what the problem is with our current approach.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Well, I think you could manually edit the .VMX file and change the guestOS option to the value that represents Windows 95 (win95, maybe??).
