USB device doesn't - connect can't access dndlog.conf

I am running linux 2.6 on a windows 7 host. Sometimes my USB devices connect at startup and other times they do not.

I get an error message that says the file "C:\ProgramData\VMware\dndlogs\dndlog.conf" can not be opened.

This is an extract from the log. Full log attached.
