Starting any VM in VMWare gives me the following error:
VMware Player unrecoverable error: (vcpu-0)
ULM: fatal error: 0x5.
I do have Hyper-V enabled because I need to use WSL 2 and VMWare side by side, but that shouldn't be a problem according to VMWare
What could be the problem?
(Attached: vmware.log and the output of "vm-support")
Host OS version?
Player version?
VMWare Workstation 16 Player - version 16.1.0 build-17198959
Host OS is Windows 10, latest Insider build 20277.1
Hi,
Most likely caused by running on the insider build.

Fair enough, I'll check on a friend's machine running stable Windows and report back in a couple days.
I also have the same problem since the Build 20277
It actually stopped working in build 20270 - prior to that there has been no problem running in insider builds.
What I have found -:
VM configured with >1 processor -> it wont power on at all and gives the ULM error 0x5
VM configured with 1 processor -> powers on and starts booting but crashes when the USB controller is accessed with same ULM 0x5 error
VM with no USB and 1 processor -> appears to boot.
Cannot run Ubuntu 20.10 for Windows buyild 20279.fe_releasae.201209-1322
Same error as at the top of this thread, or something different?
Yes same error
