I upgraded from an xps 400 (32 bit windows XP media) to win7 64 bit system and i really would like my Win XP vmx files (virtual machine or w/e) to play on this machine, that possible? thanks a mill
I have no problem running Virtual Machines originally created under a 32-bit Host OS copied to a 64-bit Host OS so yes it's possible however you'll have to provide more information then you have if you need help with a specific problem, if you're having one that is.
awesome thank you. grabbing the error im getting now.
"cannot open C:\ETC\ETC\ETC\ETC\Win XP.vmdk or one of the snapshot disks it depend on
reason: failed to lock the file."
thx again
I had similar problem several weeks ago, the problem is file permissions
under Windows 7, unfortunately I didn't spend time to solve the problem,
I have just tested/looked at Windows 7, because I'm Linux user.
Was the Virtual Machine shutdown when you copied it?
With the Virtual Machine shutdown and VMware Player closed delete any .lck folders that are in the Virtual Machine's folder and then try again.
ICK FILE FOLDER DELETE WORKED. THANK YOU!!!!! VC
