Strange Clipboard Behavior on Fedora Linux Host with Windows 10 Guest

Trying to copy and paste text from host to guest does not work outright. Copying and pasting from guest to host pastes the previous copied text: eg. if I highlight and ctrl+c "text #1", then highlight and ctrl+c "text #2" in the guest, pressing ctrl+v in the host pastes "text #1".

I have VMware Tools installed, and transferring files via drag and drop works fine. I am using VMware Player 17. Does anyone know how to get copying and pasting working?
