Hi everyone,
we are a group of volunteers that teach older (60+)
people basic computer skills.
We use 12 systems that have been
triple-boot (XP, Vista, W7) so far, but we would like to switch to
Windows7 only, then use VMwarePlayer with Vista or XP. This
works great but a number of things confuse our pupils and we are looking
for clever solutions:
1) The user interface of VMwarePlayer, simple
as it is, is too difficult. What we would like to have is just an XP
icon and a Vista icon on the Windows 7 desktop which would call VMwarePlayer then
start the selected OS without any further action.
2) Secondly, we
would like to completely hide the toolbar at the top. Our
students usually do not speak English (or very little) and they start
hitting buttons creating all kinds of unwanted effects.
Any and all advice would be appreciated!
Hi
the first is easy - you can create a shortcut on the desktop to vmplayer.exe and give it the commandline option
vmplayer.exe -x _________________________

Thank you, Ulli,
I will implement your first suggestion on Monday (do not have access to our systems until then). As to your 2nd suggestion: could you please elaborate?
