I already posted my question to Fedora:
https://ask.fedoraproject.org/t/vmware-shared-folders-not-mounted-automatically/13659
but no answers yet. I don't know who is guilty in this case, Linux or the VirtualMachine. So Fedora 29 was okay. I never used Fedora 30, 31 and 32. Fedora 33 and 34 do not mount the shared folders automatically. So something must have been changed from 29 to 33. I always have to go Virtual Machine Settings → Options → Shared Folders → select “Disabled” → Ok → Virtual Machine Settings → Options → Shared Folders → select “Enabled” → Ok.
It has been an issue with several releases of VMware Tools.
What you specified (disabling and then re-enabling shared folders) is the workaround. You could try also the permanent fix specified in the link.
