I get a compile error with the new Fedora 34 kernel-5.14.9-200.fc34.x86_64. I installed the latest vmplayer 16.1.2 but still get an error. Here is data from the log.

There is a rather recent thread, where this is reported to be sorted out. Does this help you?
RaSystemlord I tried the recommend fix and it works. Now I guess vmware has to implement the fix and release a new bundle. Many thanks for your help.

Thanks, you are welcome! I'm glad that it worked for you.
Obviously, VMware has to fix this for newer kernels.
Fixed by this commit.
Thanks! This worked for me in WorkStation Pro 16 (F34 and Kernel 5.14.10-200.fc34.x86_64)
Very good!
Could the original poster mark this as Solved (for record keeping and for easier browsing of the topics)?

EDIT: There is a topic category for that - not (just) text in the subject.
