Running a Win2k VM on Win8 (Player) causes trackpad to not work. Ever Again.

Just what it says.  I installed VM Ware Player on my Win8 Laptop, no problem.

I installed Win2k on the VM; no problem.  After installing VMWare tools and rebooting the VM, everything appeared to be OK- until I clicked into the VM and gave it control of the mouse.  At that point, my track pad stopped working.  Completely, for both VMWare Player and the rest of windows.

Rebooting Win8 does not help.  That is, Even if I don't launch VMWare, my trackpad is not working.  Device manager says it's working.

I a mstill able to use the touchcreen, and I am now using a USB mouse.  But I my trackpad is dead.

I will try to uninstall VMWAre and see if that helps, or reinstall my trackpad driver.

But if anyone knows what's up, please explain it to me.

Just to be clear: My trackpad is not working, EVEN IF VMWare is not running after a fresh reboot.
