Hi all,
I've recently run into something strange with printing. I can print perfectly fine outside of VMware Player, and I can print perfectly fine inside of the session while it is open.
But, if I attempt to minimize the session and print something from my desktop while the session is still running, the print simply spools and does not print until I close the session?
Any ideas? Ideally, I imagine I can wait until I am done within VMware, however if I need to print additional documents, I have to let them spool and wait or open and close the session multiple times.
More basic details - host OS? guest OS? how is the printer defined/used/etc (i.e. Have you attached the printer directly to the guest, or have you shared it from the host)?
Host PC is running XP Pro; guest is XP Pro French. Printer is HP laserjet 2420 and is hooked up via USB.
Printer is defined as a locally attached printer both through the host and guest.
I can access USB keys with no issue via the host and guest; so I didn't think there was any type of lock... but printing may be different.

Not sure how you're doing this. My USB key can only be attached to one OS at a time - either the host, or a guest (and not 2 guests at the same time, either). As far as I know, that's normal procedures - no device may be owned by more than one OS at any given time.
This thread may help explain better.
