My search turned up a few odd clock issues with various VMware products, but not this one exactly....I'm wondering if I have a motherboard issue, but it seems unlikely.
The problem only occurs when I am running a virtual machine under VMware Player (whether Windows XP 32-bit or Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS 64-bit) - the clock behaves almost randomly. I can go back to my Windows 7 Host (running on a quad core Intel i5 with 16 MB RAM) and synch it up with Internet time and all is well for a little bit, but it looks like the clock will sometimes stop...sometimes slow down by a factor of two, and occasionally set itself backwards several hours in time.
Any ideas what's going on? I do have VMware Tools installed...All the various machines seem to run just fine. I just have to frequently reset the system clock on the host.
