Not responding after start

VMWare Player 5.0.1 build-894247 on window s7 Pro SP1 64 bit.

Each time I start the player, its window is unresponsive for about 10 seconds.

The title bar has "(Not Responding)" appended to the window title and the window body is blank.

This happened with 5.0.0 and now with 5.0.1.

After the 10-15 seconds it works normally, but it is annoying to wait each time.

Does this happen to others too? Is there a solution?

Regards,

David

PS: Why does the forum banner say "VMware Player 4.0 is available" when 5.0.1 is out?

I've seen this behavior and I'll agree it's annoying!  I'd rather see a splash screen with a loading progress indicator then seeing the app in a non-responsive state.  However what do you expect for free (assuming you haven't purchased a VMware Fusion License to use it commercially).  Sorry I don't have any suggestions since I've seen this behavior in versions 3, 4 and 5 I just assume its a major issue they haven't yet figured out. Smiley Sad

Because obvious whoever is responsible for it is asleep as the wheel, so to speak.  Just like whoever designed the licensing for commercial use, having to purchase a VMware Fusion License, when it's a Mac product and VMware Player is Windows/Linux.  Not saying I don't understand however it was IMO very poorly thought out and implemented.  It should have been presented as purchasing a VMware Player License and noting that if one has a VMware Fusion 5 Professional License that its Serial Number License can be used as well.  Haven't given it much though beyond how poorly VMware implemented it in the first place and can only say that it has caused unnecessary confusion.
