No network found in VMware Player 3.1 .1

Hello,

I created a XP, SP2 vm with Workstation 6.5 on my XP system.

I copied(drag and drop) this vm to my Vista System via an external HD.

Both computers are networked to our domain.

On the vista pc, I have WMware Player 3.1.1.

When I run the XP vm, I can log in into the domain but the mapped drives read, "Disconnected Network Drive".

Network adapter is set to "Bridge"

I can't ping.

ipconfig/all is empty.

In Network explorer, on domain is listed. I can't open up to view pc's on network.

NIC is list in device manager.

Anyone have a solution.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forums!

You copied the guest over? Where you asked if it has been moved or copied uner VMware Player? If not or if you have answered the question with "moved" the MAC address hasn't changed. If the clone source is also online you have a MAC address conflict in the network.

Try to set the network adapter to NAT not bridge or assign a static IP address on your local network.

Hi AWo,

This was the problem. I deleted the vm and recopied it.

I ran player and loaded the vm and selected copied when prompted.

Loaded perfect.

Thank you very much.
