No TCP connection between host and guest

I have a reproducable problem here on multiple machines with the latest VMware Player 3:

I created a VM with CentOS 4.8 (also appears with 5.4). Within the VM an apache webserver is running. The VM is connected "bridged" to the LAN. All computers on the LAN can access the webserver via the IP, except the host computer.

I allready find out the following things:

- The problem only appears with TCP. ICMP (ping from host to guest) works fine.

- The TCP packet reaches the guest. "netstat" shows as state "syn_recv".

- I created the VM with "VMware Workstation" 5.5.5 where connections between host and guest work fine. Meanwhile I upgrade to 7, where it also works fine. I tried to install the 30-day-trail of VMware workstation 7 on the other computers. But this doesn't help, too

Other things:

- Haven't try UDP

- Host was allways XP SP3 (incl. all Updates)

- No firewalls on host and guest

- VMware tools were installed on the guest (also happens without)

Any idea?
