Networking issue with WinXP guest on Ubuntu

Probably an issue that comes up all the time, but I couldn't find anything useful while browsing so here goes:

I've a problem reaching out from my VM. I've got Win XP as guest in vmware player and I've tried both NAT and bridged configuration. I have no need for others to see the VM-machine so from what I've read that means that I should go for the NAT-solution. I can't seem to get it working though, here's what I've tried:

The host machine is an Ubuntu laptop that I only use WLAN with, so I've took the other interface down so that vmware wouldn't get confused. No luck though. I've also checked that DHCP is enabled and working (ipconfig /all shows that I have a 169-address, but no default gateway however).

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Magnus

Heh, nevermind. Re-running the network config script and restarting the VM finally did the trick.
