NEEDED PAID HELP - Lost Image File but have Data Files

Hello,

I have an emergency. Running VMWare Latest Version. Lost the actual VMWare Load file but all of the data files are still intact. How can I recover the file. It somehow turned into 0k file due to checkdisk. Please advise by calling 7189465099 or Mobile 6464506925.

Hi ,

Assuming that your virtual machine lost the loading file and data files are intact. You may try this

Create a new virtual machine and try mapping virtual hard disk of corrupted virtual machine to the new created one.  You should be able to move the .vmdk files to the new Virtual machine and therby access your data .

Procedure
From the VMware Fusion menu bar, select Window > Virtual Machine Library.
Select a virtual machine and click Settings.
Click Add.
Click Existing Hard Disk.
Click Add Device.
In the Open dialog, navigate to the location of the existing .vmdk hard disk file.
Select the method for adding the virtual hard disk file.
NOTE :
Make a separate copy of the virtual disk
Default. Copies the virtual hard disk file to this virtual machine’s package. Copying the virtual hard disk ensures that no conflicts exist between this virtual machine and any other virtual machine that might be using the virtual hard disk.
Share this virtual disk with the virtual machine that created it
Virtual hard disk file remains in its original location. This might cause a conflict if it is also being used by that original virtual machine.
Take this disk away from the virtual machine currently using it
Moves the virtual hard disk file to this virtual machine’s package.
Click Open.
Click Apply.

Welcome to the Community,

please create a list of files in the VM's folder (dir *.* /oen > filelist.txt) and attach the filelist.txt to your next reply post. Unless the filenamse provide information about the installed guest OS, please mention which OS is installed. If there are vmware*.log files in the VM's folder, compress/zip them and attach the .zip file to your reply post too. From the log files it's usually easy to recreate the configuration file.
