NAT controller dies with vmware player 12.1.0

I have a working copy of VMware player 6.0.6 and was trying to upgrade it to version 12.1.0. The upgrade goes successfully and the images all start up fine. However, in my case I am using the NAT network adapter for the images and NAT seems to be very unstable on this release. I am running the player on a linux x64 machine and I can see with vmware-networks --status that NAT is working. I can ssh or vnc into my image 1-2 times successfully and then NAT crashes and I have to restart it with vmware-networks --start for some reason.

Has anyone else seen this type of behavior?

Workstation Player 12.1.1 has been released just now, and should fix the problem with NAT and port-forwarding that you've encountered.  Please give it a try and let us know if the problem is fixed for you.
