My post concerns networking Windows 11.
As a developer I have one smart function developed in backend local server it is using multicast/group address requests to discover service ip - but everything works ok until I install the vmware player 17 or workstation 17 soft. The multicast packets are apperently blocked. Disabling virtual vmware NICs in System Network Settings doesn't help. After uninstalling the VMWware stuff - all come backs to normal - multicast communication works. Btw I use the the
225.4.5.6 group address on port 5000
Should any special vmware configuration change be made to enable this traffic while vmware stuff is installed ?
