Issue with VMware Workstation Pro 16 on Kali Linux

Dears,

I am using Kali Linux 2020.3, Linux Kernel version 5.8.0 and GCC version 10.2.0. I have an issue with VMware Workstation Pro 16 as below.

I successfully installed VMware on my machine; however, whenever I try to open it, it pops up the below notification.

I tried to fill the Location box with /usr/bin/gcc, but it then showed

So anybody know which version of GCC required by VM Workstation 16 or any solution for this issue?

I was able to install/build on Mint 20 with GCC v9.30.

UPDATE: based on this thread - Debian Bullseye (testing) unable to compile kernel modules gcc version (null) - it may be more related to the kernel version rather than GCC. My LM20 system is running kernel v5.4.
