I'll start with the stupid question first...

Hello,

i went through the whole rigmarole of signing up, to ask a different question, but as soon as i signed up and got to the community page, i was greeted with a "VMware Player 4.0 is now available" section above all the other discussions (copy/pasted below), which threw me for a toss, because i have 5.0.1 installed. is this site just not maintained, or am i missing a subtle (or even clear) distinction between the 5.0.1 version i have, and the 4.0 that the site is advertising?
Thanks,

Nilesh

It's an announcement, an old one at that.  I'll reach out to someone to see if it can be updated.

Since VMware Player 5 was first released on 08-23-2012 obviously someone on the VMware Web Team isn't doing their job! Smiley Wink

Maybe that announcement  specifies the recommended version ?
Then it would be correct Smiley Wink

Sorry all, the product managers are supposed to update their pages with the latest content. I'm currently looking at all communities over the next couple of weeks to see how fresh the content is. For now I have removed the box with the 4.0 announcement.

Thanks all. the intent was primarily to confirm that i wasn't missing the white elephant in the room, which happens far too often.
