How to paste files from host in to VM

I am working with the VMware Workstation 16 Player and have a number of VMs.

On most of them I can copy and paste files and folders from my host-PC into the VM - and vice versa.

But not on the VM I just started...

How do I enable this facility?

Both host and VM run Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit.

Install or update VMWare Tools in the VM and make sure "Enable copy and paste" is checked in VM Settings → Options → Guest Isolation.

I have installed VMware Tools - but I don't have the "Guest Isolation" in my option tab - or anywhere else to check "Enable copy and paste".

My Options tab only has:

  • General
  • Power
  • Shared Folders
  • VMware Tools
  • Unity
  • Autologin

... so no Guest Isolation.

As mentioned - I have other VMwares, where it works - and I cant find the difference in the Options on these VMwares.
